"In Concert" at Two Venues

Saturday, March 17, 2012, 7:00 p.m at O'Laughlin Auditorium - 574-247-1590/tickets

Sunday, March 18, 2:00 p.m. at The Lerner Theater, Elkhart -574-293-4469/tickets.

The work of seven Midwest choreographers will provide a wide range of styles including six premiers in  the spring performances of "In Concert". Chicago-area artists Jeremy Plummer, Salena Watkins, Donna Ziegler and Nick Pupillo as well as Michigan artist Theresa Graziano will add their choreography to that of resident choreographers Jenn Wolfe and Jaci Mullins.

Truly presenting choices for every taste, the program will include strong, high-energy dances as well as introspective and whimsical selections. Performers will include PDC adult, PDC II and Apprentice dancers and, as part of its community outreach, an appearance by dancers of the Dance III Program of Penn High School.

In addition to being an exciting cultural event appropriate for all ages, this is an opportunity to enjoy live performance dance at its best and something all students of dance should attend.

Update

All PDC dancers were kept busy learning new works with both guest and resident choreographers starting in the summer of 2011 and continuing into early 2012. Continually expanding the abilities of our dancers as well as providing our community with engaging entertainment are goals of Patchwork.

Patchwork Dance Company has had a variety of events since our last newsletter.  In October we filled the 3rd Annual Trivia Night.  We learned lots of useless information and raised $$ to support the programs of Patchwork doing it! That event was followed by a Barnes & Noble fundraiser in connection with a Christopher’s Christmas performance.  A new fundraiser was also added to the fall line-up by selling Papa Murphy’s pizzas.  Thank you to all who participated and partnered with PDC in these events.

 Annual Dinner Auction a Success!

Thanks to a lot of hard work by many, our 9th Annual Dinner Auction was a night of good food, wonderful entertainment and great bargains!  With an enthusiastic audience in attendance, more than 100 donated items were auctioned off silently and orally, raising funds  for Patchwork Dance Company.

From ND football tickets to airline tickets , a Nook color to restaurant gift cards, dessert of the month to jewelry, there was something for everyone to bid on.  But the highlight of the night was the fun and funds for PDC!

Entertainment was provided by PDC II and PDC Apprentices with a sneak preview of two of the dances from their upcoming “In Concert” show.   It was fun to see the dances up close and we look forward to so much more that there is to come at the Concert.

We hope you enjoyed the evening if you were there, and if not, you missed a beautiful night out at Knollwood Country Club.  We invite you to attend next year for the 10th annual edition of the dinner auction.
Thanks to all those who helped plan, price, set-up and attend the event.
